Monday, January 6th, 2026 (Arrival & Welcome)

15:00 Check-in at the Premier Inn St. Albans City Centre. Settle in and make yourself comfortable.

15:30 – 17:00 Welcome & Introductions in the hotel's common area or bar. This is a great time to share your retreat reading goals and get to know fellow attendees.

17:00 – 18:30 Free time to explore the immediate vicinity of the hotel in St. Albans city centre.

18:30 Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

20:00 Evening reading session in a comfortable spot at the hotel.

Tuesday, January 7th, 2026 (St. Albans Exploration & Reading)

08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast at the Premier Inn.

09:00 – 12:00 Morning reading session. Consider finding a quiet corner in the hotel, enjoying the ambiance of a local St. Albans cafe, or, if the weather permits, a peaceful spot in Verulamium Park.

12:00 – 13:00 Lunch at a local cafe or restaurant in St. Albans.

13:00 – 16:00 Explore local St. Albans attractions. You could visit the magnificent St. Albans Cathedral, explore the Roman Theatre and Hypocaust in Verulamium Park, or wander through the historic city centre.

16:00 – 18:30 Free time. Head back to the hotel to relax, or continue exploring the shops and sights of St. Albans.

18:30 Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

20:00 Evening reading session or a relaxed evening in the hotel, perhaps with a visit to a traditional St. Albans pub.

Wednesday, January 8th, 2026 (St. Albans Relaxation & Farewell)

08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast at the Premier Inn.

09:00 – 12:00 Morning reading session. Find a serene spot for reading, perhaps in a quiet part of Verulamium Park, or a cozy St. Albans cafe.

12:00 – 13:00 Lunch at a St. Albans cafe or restaurant.

13:00 – 16:00 Free time for more reading, relaxing, or some last-minute souvenir shopping in St. Albans.

16:00 – 18:30 Free time for final packing and unwinding before departure.

18:30 Farewell dinner at the hotel restaurant.

20:00 Final reading session or a relaxed evening at the hotel, reflecting on your retreat.

Thursday, January 9th, 2026 (Departure)

08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast at the Premier Inn.

09:00 – 11:00 Final reading session at the hotel or a nearby cafe in St. Albans.

11:00 Check-out from Premier Inn St. Albans City Centre.

11:00 Depart from St. Albans, refreshed and with new literary inspirations!
